CC cycle 3 week 23&24 ::the plan

Whew! We have made it to the end of the CC year and we all let out a collective sigh! If your home is anything like mine then the last few weeks of the CC year are jam packed! Memory Master proofing and final Essentials papers have us feeling pressed in (and sometimes stressed out!). But we dug deep and have made it through! My oldest finished his last year in foundations and achieved Memory Master again making this mama proud! Wahoo!

Now that the year has come to an end we will have the time to turn to walking through the last 2 weeks of memory work at home. Here are some ideas we will be using to talk more about the grammar of weeks 23 & 24 because hey, it's better late than never! Right?

History:
Just because I think it is fun and this is how I remember learning about the Constitution and the Preamble. Ah, gotta love School House Rock!

Here is a link to printable copy work for the Preamble.

Check out the National Constitution Center website for cool links like the Preamble Scramble puzzle and tons more.  Click here to watch a great video about the Bill of Rights that goes well with week 24!

Check out this fun folder style game for the Bill of Rights found on the Wise Nest. Great for visual reinforcement of the amendments. There is also one for the Preamble on this site that is similar.

There are tons of free coloring pages for the Presidents found on Crayola.com. I will print them out for my youngest two and let them work on coloring them during our Morning Meeting time for the next few weeks.

Readers:

We will be catching up on our reading over the next few weeks. Here are a few we have pulled to go along with these last 2 weeks of cycle 3.

And that is about it! We will keep on working through our map work on Mondays and asking the big questions about science. I plan on doing more probability labs at home because my kids have just loved them! Check out the posts on My Favorite Kind of Crazy for some awesome ideas.

So, do you school past the CC year? Through the summer? We will be working hard up until Memorial Day and then do soft school during the summer. I'll be posting more about how I plan for a new year and what I have in store for cycle 1. Until then!

Blessings!
